Building software that thinks, ships & scales.

I'm Aaron Thomas, a software engineer who likes turning rough ideas into things that actually work. I build AI assisted QA platforms, Go services, and developer tools — and I land bug fixes upstream at places like Apple, Meta, Amazon, Netflix, and Google.

Projects I've built & shipped

A mix of production tools, experiments, and passion projects. Every one of them taught me something new.

QA Tool, an AI Testing Workspace

A full stack workspace where testers write scenarios in plain english, or paste a Jira ticket, and get back a real test brief, executed checks, and a short verdict for faster triage. The AI plans the tests, and there is proper auth with invites and resets, plus history, templates, suites, and exports.

SalesIQ Agent Service

A secure Go service that lets a DigitalOcean Gradient AI agent pull live sales data mid conversation, all while keeping the API keys out of the prompt. It has a middleware chain, structured JSON logging, rate limiting, SSRF protection, and health checks for failover.

Visual API Workflow Builder

A Figma style canvas for designing API workflows. Drag nodes onto it, wire the outputs into inputs, tweak them in a live inspector, and simulate a run with a status on every node. It even catches cycles and keeps the transform node safely sandboxed. Built with no AI at all.

PC Build Recommender

A passion project that suggests PC builds based on the game you play, your resolution, and the frame rate you want, with real gameplay clips so you can see how they hold up. Pure HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. No frameworks, fully static.

The Learning Journey

Where it all started. A pile of vanilla HTML, CSS, and JavaScript experiments plus my 2024 projects, tracing the path from the very first basics toward full stack. Proof that showing up adds up.

Contributions that ship upstream

I hunt down real bugs in production-grade open source — Go services, developer tools, cloud SDKs, and web platforms — then land fixes upstream. The list below is my merged work and what is still under review.

03 · About

An aspiring engineer who loves the build.

I describe myself pretty simply. I'm an aspiring software engineer who just wants to build fun projects. That curiosity has dragged me across the whole stack, from tiny UI details all the way to backend services that need to stay secure, observable, and dependable.

What I keep coming back to is the spot where AI meets developer tooling. Things that take the friction out of hard work, whether that is turning plain english into a test plan or letting an agent safely reach for real data. I care a lot about clean architecture, thoughtful UX, and actually shipping.
